NeutraPoll

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 14, 2026

NeutraPoll exists to host honest, identity-verified polls. To make that work we have to collect a small amount of information from you. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, a hashed password (or a magic-code session if you sign in without a password), and an optional display name. We use PBKDF2 hashing for stored passwords; we never see or store your plaintext password.

Identity verification. A photo of a government-issued ID and a selfie. These are uploaded only to confirm one-person-one-account during a one-time review and are accessible only to NeutraPoll administrators during that review. As soon as an administrator finishes reviewing your submission, your ID photo and selfie are permanently deleted from our servers. We retain only whether your account is verified — never the documents themselves.

Participation data. Polls you vote on, comments you write, likes you give, and reports or blocks you submit. Votes are stored as aggregate totals and are not linked back to your name or email in any user-facing surface.

Reports and blocks. If you report a comment, we store the report (reason and optional note) so administrators can review it. If you block another user, we store that block so we can hide their content from your view. Comment authors cannot see who reported or blocked them.

Device and reliability data. We may collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information (for example via Sentry or a similar service) to keep the app running. These reports are scrubbed of identifying content and used only to fix bugs and stability issues.

How we use it

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Ever.

Who can see your data

Where your data lives

Data is stored on InstantDB, which encrypts it in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Uploaded ID and selfie images live in InstantDB's storage. Application servers (our Cloudflare Worker) are stateless and do not retain copies of your data.

How long we keep it

Your ID photo and selfie are deleted as soon as an administrator finishes the verification review — they are not kept once they've served their one-time purpose. Everything else (account, votes, comments, verified status) is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account in the app (see below), we immediately delete your account row, credentials, votes, comments, likes, and verification record.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time, directly inside the app:

Menu → Privacy & Security → Delete Account.

This is a one-tap action that permanently removes your account, votes, comments, likes, and identity verification data. It cannot be undone. We do not require you to email us, and we do not keep a hidden copy.

Reporting and blocking

Inside the app you can flag any comment using the report icon. You'll pick a reason (spam, harassment, misinformation, or other) and our team reviews every report. You can also block any user; their comments will no longer appear in your feed, and the block is private to your account.

Your rights

You have the right to:

If you're located in California (CCPA) or the EU/UK (GDPR), the rights above apply to you specifically, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

NeutraPoll is intended for users 17 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and accounts found to be in this age group will be deleted.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about how we collect or use your data, we'll update this page and post a notice in the app. Continuing to use NeutraPoll after a change means you accept the updated policy.
